Supporting over 200 families, we provide specialised support for children (tamariki) and young people (rangatahi) with intellectual disabilities. Our services include respite care, home and community-based support, social work, and specialised residential care.
Respite Care
Sometimes families need a break. For over 20 years we’ve been helping families with children who have disabilities by offering high-quality respite care. Our program is designed to offer peace of mind to families, knowing their loved ones are receiving quality care and support. Our service provides a “home away from home” where children can stay in a supportive environment with other children, while keeping their daily routines as normal as possible. To access our respite care, a referral from a NASC or an EGL connector is required.
Home and Community-Based Support
Our home and community-based support service offers personalised support to individuals in their homes and local communities in line with their goals. Types of support includes daily living support and social activities. These social connections and community engagement boost overall quality of life and promote independence. Referrals come from a NASC or an EGL connector.
Social Worker support and intervention
Across the Waikato and Bay of Plenty our dedicated social workers provide essential support to children and families in the community, focusing on early and intensive intervention. They work closely with other organisations, including Oranga Tamariki, to offer education, guidance, resources, and personalised care plans. Through their efforts, we aim to create a supportive and inclusive environment for all. Referrals come through Oranga Tamariki.
