A new van!

Happy people in a van

Bernadette, Rueth and Alexia took the new van for a spin

Here at Community Living, we’re always looking for ways to do things better for the people we support. And guess what? We’ve found something super special that’s going to make getting out and about much easier and more fun!

We’ve found some really cool vans that can carry two wheelchairs at once!

Sally Rosenberg, our Property and Projects Manager, shared how exciting this is:

“We found almost a unicorn! We found a couple of vans that have two wheelchair spaces in them, which is fantastic for the people that we support.” She added that it means “we can now do trips out together rather than either taking two vans or only one person going at a time.”

These vans are pretty rare in New Zealand, so we’re really lucky to have one. We might even get another soon! This means more friends can go on adventures together, just like a family.
